Grace wins big in Dublin

HEARTIEST congratulations to Tralee accountant, Des Grace, whose dog, Pestana, brilliantly won a purse of €20,000 in the final of the Boylespor ts Champion Stakes at Shelbourne Park on Saturday night.

Pestana, which is trained in Tipperary by Owen McKenna, belied his market price of 6/1 by winning by three lengths from the Liam Dowling-owned Ballymac Wild in 29.57 (550yds), with a head back to another Liam Dowling runner, Ballymac Anton.

An absolutely brilliant Kerry 1,2,3 and, indeed, yet another Liam Dowling runner, Ballymac Cooper, finished fourth.

Not easy to top that in a big one.
