Four-goal Asdee clinch place in the final with Castlegreg­ory Celtic oufit

ASDEE Rovers clinched their place in the league final after a comfortabl­e win win over Castlegreg­ory at Craughdarr­ig Park on Sunday morning.

Castlegreg­ary had an understren­gth team on duty as the game was of little significan­ce to them as the West Kerry side have already qualified for the decider. Asdee went ahead with a cracking goal from Alex Laurant. However Castlegreg­ory equalised with a Tomas Butler goal.

The home side regained the lead with an stunning free kick from 30 yards by Niall Downey and it was 2-1 at half-time. Further goals from Joe Lynch and sub Callum McSweeney made it an easy win for Asdee at the end.

The two sides meet in the league final with Asdee bidding for their first league title while Castlegreg­ory will be bidding for back to back titles having won Division 1B last season.

DENNY DIVISION 1B Killarney Athletic B 3 CS Clochain Breannainn 4

CSCB moved a step closer to reaching the league final after a hard earned win over Killarney Athletic. Jimmy Grady was the star of the show for the West Kerry side bagging a hat-trick and the other goal was scored by Gene Murphy.

DENNY DIVISION 2B Classic C 3 MEK Galaxy B 3

MEK and Classic shared the spoils in a six goal thriller. MEK were 3-0 down after 15 minutes, but they staged a great recovery to snatch a point. Mike Daly, Conor Collins and Darragh O’Regan scored for MEK with assists from Jack O’Driscoll, Mike Daly and David Mc Sweeney.

Their best players were Mike Griffin, Ronan Walsh and Oisin Walsh. David O’Connor (two) and Mark Holden scored for Classic.

AC Athletic B 0 Lisard Wanderers 0

NEITHER side could find the net in this game and they had to settle for a share of the spoils. Both sides went close to scoring with AC hitting the woodwork twice while Lisard hit the framework late in the game.

Lenamore Rovers 5 Windmill Unted B 2

LENAMORE Rovers were in cracking form and romped home to a comprehens­ive win over Lisard Wanderers.in a very entertaini­ng game. Mike Holly (two), Donal Leahy, Stephen McCarthy and Jack Mulvihill scored for the Ballylongf­ord side. This win gives them an outside chance of making the decider.
