DLF SEEDS and Science products are available from Rhyno Mills, Castleisland, and the benefits of using such products are clear.

DLF Performance for cut and graze are available in 12 and 14kg packs. This is a highly versatile mixture with a combination of high yields, quality, and persistence.

It is designed for both grazing and silage, delivering early spring grass with varieties like ‘Nifty’ and ‘Kerry’.

It includes top-performing variety on the PPI Nashota and top-performing variety in Grazing Trials Aspect.

DLF Persistence is also available in 12kg and 14kg packs for cut and graze/10 years plus.

Persistence is a dual-purpose mixture designed to produce a dense sward, early turn out and an exceptionally high first-cut yield.

Varieties are selected from the Irish and Scottish recommended lists, and only the densest and most persistent varieties are used to make up this long-lasting mixture.

It features 35 per cent tetraploid content with good density, and a broad spectrum of heading dates to allow versatility for both cutting and grazing.

All varieties used are performing well on Northern partner farm, and it is available without clover. Varieties with a negative persistence score are not used in this mixture

DLF All Stock for cut and graze is available in both 12kg and 14kg packs.

This provides good spring production for early turnout, and very high first-cut silage yields.

It provides for a wide spread of heading dates to allow flexibility in cutting date, and varieties selected from Irish and Scottish recommended list.

It is suitable for all classes of stock, with ‘Timothy’ included for additional spring growth, palatability and winter hardiness.

DLF Heavy Soils is available for cut and graze/10 years plus in 12kg bags.

It has a high inclusion of Diploid Ryegrass for good ground cover, with Tetraploid Aspect also dense with high palatability. Early bite is provided by Timothy and Meadow fescue, and three different grass species suits variations in soil types across fields.

It is specially formulated to be a permanent pasture on heavy land or where the retention of pure perennial ryegrass is challenging.

Timothy and Meadow Fescue are included in the mix, as mentioned, and grow at lower temperatures and are more winter-hardy than perennial ryegrass.

Inclusion of Creeping Red Fescue ensures the sward base is closed to reduce weed species taking hold.
