Be a step ahead, book now for the Brandon Bay Run 2021
IT’S never too late to start planning for something that is worth it, and the Brandon Bay Run is a prime example. No sooner had the disappointment of having to cancel this year’s event due to COVID-19 been absorbed when plans for 2021 were put in place.
This epic all-beach challenge is set entirely on the golden beach around Brandon Bay. It’s a walk, jog or run event in one of the most unique running events in the world - entirely on the beach surrounded by the majesty of Mount Brandon, the Atlantic Ocean and the Slieve Mish Mountains.
“A new 5k distance will be added for 2021 and we will be working in partnership with the Kerry Recreation & Sports partnership to create some couch to 5k initiatives to get people running. As always our hugely popular 10k run and half marathon are taking place on the day,” said Damien Finn, organiser of the Brandon Bay Run.
The 2021 Brandon Bay Run is on Saturday 10th July (start and finish at Fahamore, Maharees). Distances will be the new 5k/10k/ half marathon. Booking is already very steady. “Over the years we have had thousands of runners take part from all corners of the globe. Organised by Castlegregory Celtic FC, all funds raised go towards local sports and to nominated charities. Our chosen charity is one very close to our hearts here in a coastal community, the RNLI. The marathon is a totally unique event and by adding the new 5k run we anticipate very big numbers. Fingers crossed for 2021,” said Damien.
