KERRY HOSPICE FOUNDATION RADIO KERRY CELEBRATE 4LIFE

It has been a great week being involved in this wonderful event with the team at Radio Kerry. Today the fund is at over €76,000 and will go to help four fantastic kerry charities, they being Kerry Hospice Foundation, Kerry Cancer Support Group, Recovery Haven and Comfort for Chemo.

Radio Kerry gave us a wonderful platform over the course of the week to explain all the services in Kerry and where the funds raised go to.

The Kerry Hospice Foundation are yet again blown away by the huge generosity of the people of

Kerry and beyond. The Foundation are so grateful to you all for your kindness. Also to Radio Kerry we would like to thank you for involving us in this wonderful event and really appreciate your wonderful support.

CHEQUE PRESENTATIONS

The gang in the Abbeydorney Vintage Rally Club held a tractor run along with a vintage car run last weekend. There was a huge turn out on both days, with great cars and tractors on view. They raised €7386.08 and presented the cheque on Thursday evening. A huge thank you to all who donated and took part and of course we are hugley grateful to all who organised this wonderful event.

There was another wonderful cheque presentation this week when Conor and Brian Reidy came in to the gardens of the I.P.U and presented a cheque for €1141.

They organised a bake sale with the help of their family. They got great support from their friends and neighbours. Well done guys and a huge thank you to all who supported this.

KNOWYOUR RIGHTS RETURNING TO SCHOOL

Question: When schools reopen, what health and safety rules will children have to follow?

Answer: The Government plans to reopen schools at the start of the new school year -- end August 2020.

Students will have to keep a physical distance from one another when they are outside the classroom, including in hallways and outdoor spaces. Inside the classroom, students will work within designated groupings or =91bubbles’. Schools may use PE halls and other areas as classrooms to allow for physical distancing.

Students may also do =91blended learning’. This means that their school programme will include learning at school and online learning at home. Students and teachers will do more hand-washing and sanitising, and they will take staggered breaks and lunch times. There will be enhanced cleaning regimes in all schools to minimise the risk of spreading COVID-19. If your child is using school transport, they must:

Maintain physical distancing while waiting for the bus

Use hand sanitiser when boarding the bus

Always sit in a pre-assigned seat Always sit beside the same child (either a sibling or a child from the same class group)

Observe respiratory etiquette at all times while waiting for and onboard the bus

Get off the bus one-by-one If your child is in secondary school and using school transport, they must also wear a mask while waiting for and on-board the bus. Children with medical or special educational needs do not have to wear a face covering

You can read the Government’s Roadmap for the full return to school for detailed guidance on returning to school.[
