Calling all Bon Jovi fans!
IF Livin’ on a Prayer, Bed of Roses and some Bad Medicine ring a bell, then you might want to keep your diary free for Saturday, February 16 as The Bon Jovee Tribute Show prepares to rock out with ‘80s soft rock favourites at The Brandon Conference Centre.
Playing the best of Bon Jovi’s tracks will be popular Tralee musicians Sean Mc Cord, Noel Mc Cord, Mike Leahy, Liam Shanahan, and Damian Greer.
This is an event not to be missed as it also doubles up as a fundraiser for the ‘Cliona’s Fund’ (for families with seriously sick children) and the Palliative Care and Oncology Units in Tralee.
Eileen Whelan of Paco Tralee is the woman behind the event. Eileen organises fundraisers for various charities on a regular basis by arranging coffee mornings and fashion shows. This is Eileen’s first time arranging an event like this, so she’s naturally excited at what promises to be a great event.
“I was hosting a coffee morning recently when I met band member, Damian Greer. I said it to him about staging a concert and he agreed, which is great. The band did a show during last year’s Rose of Tralee festival and it proved very popular,” Eileen said.
The concert will also feature former Eurovision contestant, Mickey Joe Harte, and popular band, Oracle.
“We’ve had a great reaction to it so far and people seem very interested. Hopefully we will get a big crowd as the money raised goes to some great causes,” Eileen added. Tickets cost €20 and can be bought from the Paco Store in Tralee and at all Horan Health Stores in Kerry and across Munster. You can also call Eileen on: 089 211 5916.
Launching the Bon Jovi tribute night, in aid of the Palliative Care unit, at the Brandon on Tuesday were Brendan Lynch, Audrey Moran, Eileen Whelan, Mary Lynch and Brendan Fuller with Bon Jovee members Sean McCord, Damian Greer and Michael Leahy.
