Classes resumed in all centres from Monday, January 7th. Two weeks remain in Term 1. Second term begins on Monday, January 21st.
Before committing to a full term (15 lessons) or year (30 lessons) of tuition, parents and adult students can request a tryout lesson or mini term (usually 5 lessons) on any instrument and voice. Light Opera Society of Tralee’s production of Chicago, directed by Grainne O’ Carroll, takes to the boards in Siamsa Tire in early March. Booking is now open on 066-7123055 and online at www. siamsatire.com.
Choreography is by Miltown native Katrina Galvin, who graduated from University of Limerick Irish World Music Centre with a 1st Honours BA in Song and Dance. Katrina has been accepted for representation by the famous Pineapple Studios and is relocating to London to work as a professional dancer.
Kerry School of Music Dance Academy takes to the boards in Siamsa Tire also in March when students of Colette Maguire Jensen will present their annual showcase - Born to Dance. This is always a sell-out so early booking is strongly advised. This is the second dance showcase of the year. On December 9th students of teacher Tara Dore performed their annual showcase to a packed Siamsa Theatre.
Student concerts take place this term in Cahersiveen, Dingle, Listowel and Killarney. Dates and venues to follow.
KERRY CHAMBER CHOIR
Kerry Chamber Choir, following on it’s successful pre-Christmas Messiah is turning its attention to Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana. Watch this space for details of performances.
SENIOR AND JUNIOR ORCHESTRAS
Kerry School of Music’s Senior and Junior Orchestras will present their annual concert in Tralee and Killarney in late March.
SPRING MUSIC FESTIVAL
The Spring Music Festival and Ensemble Day take place in April just before Easter. A separate brochure will be available from February.
