Fo­cus turns to Cushen­dall af­ter de­feat by Premier in Mun­ster league

KERRY’S in­ter­est in the Mun­ster se­nior hurl­ing league ended last Satur­day when they were de­feated by Tip­per­ary on a 4-20 to 1-14 score­line at Ne­nagh.

Their next com­pet­i­tive game will be in Round 1, Divi­sion 2A of the 2019 Al­lianz Hurl­ing League on Satur­day, Jan­uary 26 when they face a long away trip to Antrim. That game goes ahead in Cushen­dall.

Fur­ther rounds will be against West­meath on Sun­day, Fe­bru­ary 3 at Austin Stack Park, 2pm; Mayo on Sun­day, Fe­bru­ary 17 at Austin Stack Park, 2pm; away to Lon­don on Satur­day, Fe­bru­ary 23 at McGovern Park, Ruis­lip, 1pm; Meath on Sun­day, March 3 at Fitzger­ald Sta­dium, Kil­lar­ney (as part of a dou­ble bill with the Kerry v Mon­aghan game).

The an­nual pre-sea­son plan­ning meet­ing be­tween the Hurl­ing Clubs and Kerry County Board will take place on this Wed­nes­day, Jan­uary 9 at 8pm at the Pav­il­ion, Austin Stack Park Tralee.

All clubs are ex­pected to be rep­re­sented. The main items on the agenda will be the 2019 fix­tures cal­en­dar and amal­ga­ma­tions for 2019 at mi­nor & Un­der 21 lev­els.

The AGMs of Bal­ly­duff and Bal­ly­heigue clubs will take place on this Fri­day, Jan­uary 11 in their re­spec­tive clu­b­rooms at 8pm. The An­nual Con­ven­tion of the North Kerry Hurl­ing Board is fixed for Thurs­day, Jan­uary 17 at Kil­moy­ley. Of­fi­cer nom­i­na­tions and mo­tions to the Sec­re­tary Joe Walsh by this Sun­day.

Crotta O’Neills Hurl­ing Club will hold a vic­tory so­cial on this Satur­day, Jan­uary 12 at Bal­ly­roe Heights Ho­tel to mark their 2018 County Un­der-21 Hurl­ing Cham­pi­onship win.

On the fol­low­ing Satur­day, Jan­uary 19, Abbey­dor­ney will cel­e­brate their 2018 County Mi­nor Hurl­ing Cham­pi­onship vic­tory with a vic­tory so­cial at the same venue.
