Y ou’ve got to hand it to Kirsty; she’s got a face like butter wouldn’t melt – why wouldn’t the locals believe every softly spoken word of hers? But puppetmaster that she thinks she is, her façade was always going to slip somewhere down the line – it’s just unfortunate for her that it has to be during Tyrone’s trial.

She’s unnerved as Tyrone takes the stand and tells the jury of his fears for little Ruby, given that he’s suffered at the hands of his abusive ex for months.

And when Julie gets the truth slapped right across her face by Kirsty, she embarks on a race against her former friend’s temper to first ensure Ruby’s safety, and then prove to the court that Tyrone’s been telling the truth all along. With Kirsty and Ruby nowhere to be found, is this enough to get Ty off the hook?

Karl can’t believe his luck as he gets cosy at No 13, with Gloria hailing him a hero, and Stella slowly warming to him. To top it all off, after questioning Stella about the pub’s spare keys, the police find them among Sunita’s belongings. As everyone becomes convinced that Sunita is an arsonist, she remains unconscious, unable to defend herself…

Elsewhere, Paul struggles to deal with his emotions while Eileen struggles to know how to be there for him, Chesney gets drunk and makes a move on Eva, and Gary puts a good word in to get Tina some more hours at the builder’s yard.

And Beth becomes extremely miffed when Kirk cancels their date, saying he’s promised to meet up with Chesney.
