COTTAGE DEMOLISHED

The old derelict cottage on the Burma Road occupied by the late Thady Higgins has been demolished. The cottage stood out as a momument of other days and this was a sence of nostalgia of the older inhabitant­s of the area at its demolition.

GOLF CHAMPIONS

Congratula­tions to Gerry Fox and his son Ruairi in winning the 2012-2013 Winter League golf competitio­n played over the Strandhill Course. Final scores for the competitio­n sponsored by Strandhill Lodge & Suites were as follows; 1st Gerry and Ruairi Fox 17up; 2nd Dessie TimbsBenny Duigan 16up; John Scanlon-Tom Conlon 16up.

G.A.A. CAMPS

LADY GOLFER OF YEAR

Congratula­tions to Stephanie Conlon who has been Named as Lady Golfer of the year 2012 by Strandill Golf Club Ladies Branch.

BOSTON TEA PARTY

DRAMATIC SOCIETY

Coolera Dramatic Society have been staging Brian Foster's 'The Butterfly of Killybegs' at various venues around the Country. Following three Festival appearance­s and adudicatio­ns, they have picked up six awards which include a best Actor award for Karen Gordon and best director award for Bobby Jones.

PALM CROSSES

Parishoner­s are invited to take home the Jerusalem Palm Crosses from the church and to inscibe the initals of Family and Friends on them and then place them at the foot of the cross in the Sanctuary on Good Friday.
