WEST SLIGO FORUM AGM
The Annual General Meeting of West Sligo Forum Ltd. will take place on Tuesday , July 15 in Easkey Community Centre at 9pm. All welcome.
TIDY TOWNS CAKE SALE
There will be a cake sale on Sunday, July 6 after 11.30 mass in Dromore West Community Centre to support the Dromore West Tidy Towns. All proceeds from the day will go towards purchasing materials needed for the Tidy Towns, including bedding plants, flowers, weed killer, paint etc. Anyone who wishes to provide cakes or homemade baked goods to be sold on the day please drop them into the Community Centre prior to mass. Also, a special mention to all the volunteers who have helped out with the Tidy Towns in the recent weeks and to local home owners and business people who have made an extra effort around their homes and premises. The village is looking good!
WALKING GROUP
Fancy a walk while you are in Easkey ? Get in touch with Easkey Walking Group, on easkeyfitness@hotmail.com or 085 - 1758828. Walks are from Easkey Community Centre, beside the Caravan Park, on Saturdays at 2pm. Walks will be suitable for people of all levels of fitness.
COMMUNITY COUNCIL DRAW
Easkey Community Council Ltd will hold their annual draw on Friday, July 4 at 6pm in the Community Centre. Ticket sellers are calling from house to house. 1st prize is € 2000, 2nd prize a week's holiday for 2 in Spain, 3rd prize € 500 and many other cash prizes. Tickets cost € 10.
FUN CAMP
The West Sligo Family Resource Centre is running a Fun Camp in Dromore West Community Centre on July 14 to 16 . All children from 7 - 12 years are welcome. Cost is € 25 per child. For booking please contact Jenny on 096 37444.
SCHOOL GRADUATION
Friday , June 20 was Graduation Day for the Leaving Cert Class of the Jesus and Mary Secondary School, Enniscrone. Celebrations began with Mass in Enniscrone Church celebrated by Fr Kieran Holmes. Student of the Year was presented to Jason Mc Guinness while Sarah Curley was presented with a special award for having missed no day for the six years she attended the school. The students and teachers had a meal in Hotel Ballina and returned to Enniscrone for a disco. In all fifty students graduated.
WESTSIDE MACRA
Westside Macra club will host a
' Know Your Neighbour' event on Sunday, July 20 as part of Macra's national ' Know Your Neighbour' weekend, more information to follow.
As part of Macra's 70th celebrations club members will be contacting past members from the Castleconnor, Enniscrone and Easkey areas in the coming weeks in the hopes of gathering as much information as possible about Macra clubs and their activities etc from the last 70 years for a booklet to be printed by Co. Sligo Macra. If you have any old photos, stories etc. and would like to contribute contact 086 3723430.
WEIGHT LOSS
“Shake the Cake” Weight Loss Consultations are starting on Wednesday, June 25 from 6.30pm- 7.30pm in Easkey Community Centre. Suitable for men and women with 1/ 2 stone plus to loose. Each person will receive a full daily 6 week food plan and a personal exercise programme to be carried out at home or in a gym. Weekly private weigh in and weight loss advice fully confidential. WATER SAFETY
The Annual Irish Water Safety Course ( swimming and lifesaving instruction) will take place at Aughris Pier from Sunday , July13 to Friday July 18 . FLOWER SHOW
Christ Church, Dromard celebrates the 250th anniversary with a flower show. This will be a three day event on July 11/ 12/ 13 from 11am to 6pm. The arrangements will be created by Sligo Flower and Garden Club. For further information contact Audrie on 0866069063.

There was no winner of the jackpot in the Easkey Community Council lotto draw on Friday, June 20. Numbers drawn were 1 17 21 24 . Bonus number 10. Winners of € 25 were J. Next week's jackpot will be € 3, 2 00 and the draw will be held at the bingo in the Community Centre at 8.30.
