JUBILEE

Congratula­tions to our local Parish Priest, Fr. Michael Donnelly, who celebrated the 50th anniversar­y of his ordination to the priesthood with family, friends and neighbours last Thursday in Rathcormac Hall. Fr. Michael, who came to the Rathcormac parish in 1992, received a number of presentati­ons on the night from a variety of community groups and was treated to a great night of music, song and dance.

TIDY TOWNS

The judging period for this year's Tidy Towns competitio­n continues until the end of July. Our villages could be judged at any time within this period. Well done to the local Drumcliffe Rathcormac and Carney Tidy Towns Groups who have been doing great work.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Well done to all the kids who represente­d the Drumcliffe area in the County Finals of the 2014 Community Games Athletics Track and Field events last weekend at Sligo IT. The Team won 3rd prize for presentati­on in the opening parade and also won a number of individual and team medals, including: Jasmine Dunleavy ( 1st U8 Girls 60m), Rachel McManus ( 3rd U10 Girls 100m), Paul O'Brien ( 3rd U10 Boys 100m), Sadbh McCarthy ( 3rd Girls U14 800m), Paul O'Brien/ Conor Gillen/ Rían O'Callaghan/ Rachel McManus/ Esa McCaffery/ Katie Maguire ( 1st U10 mixed 4x100m Relay). Well done to everyone who took part, competed, supported, organised!

SOCCER CAMP

The nearest FAI Soccer Summer Camp to the area this year takes place in Grange at the North Sligo Sports Complex from July 7th to 11th, daily between 10: 30am and 3pm. The camp offers kids between the ages of 6 and 14 the opportunit­y to attend a week- long football- oriented summer camp. Every year boys and girls of all abilities turn out to enjoy five days of fun and football. Bookings can be made at www.summersocc­erschools.ie until July 1st .

CÚL CAMPS

The local Kellogg's GAA Cúl Camp takes place in Oxfield from July 14th to 18 th. Online booking are now open at www. kelloggscu­lcamps. gaa. ie.

NIGHT CLIMB

The ever popular annual night climb of Benbulben, organised by the Sligo Leitrim Mountain Rescue Team is scheduled for Saturday July 19th. Climb Benbulben with friends by starlight and help support our local Mountain Rescue Team. Places are limited to 200 again and are filling up fast.
