Ballymote’s parade will go ahead after taking break in 2015

Following a one year hiatus, the Ballymote St. Patrick’s Day parade will return this year.

Preparatio­ns are already well underway.

The parade will take place on Thursday March 17th at 3.30pm.

A large number of entrants including marching bands have already confirmed participat­ion in this year’s parade.

Any groups, individual­s, businesses or anyone who may wish to participat­e in the parade can do so by contacting The Coach House Hotel in Ballymote on 071- 9183111.

Following the success of previous parades in Ballymote it is hoped that this year’s will be bigger and better.

A fundraisin­g night will be held in The Coach House Hotel on Saturday, March 5 at 9pm.

Sligo band Rackhouse Pilfer will be performing live and tickets for the event will cost € 10.

All proceeds go towards Ballymote St. Patrick’s Day parade and the Christmas lights fund.

Tickets are available from the following outlets: Lavin’s Outfitters, The Coach House Hotel, Shaz hair salon, The Picnic Basket, Henry’s filling station and Frank Gallagher’s shop.

Funding for the event has been made available following representa­tions from both Councillor Dara Mulveyy and John Perry TD.
