AS THE Spring moves into gear sales are getting bigger with demand for all stock on Tuesday - in general the trade was on par with last week with a firm demand for all stock especially in spec store cattle with Northern agents active looking for stock.

Bullocks made from € 450 to € 802 over the weight - examples of some prices – a Charolais at 668kg/€ 1470, Limousin 602kg/€ 1370, Charolais 476kg/€ 1300 & a AA 450kg /€ 1100.00

Heifers sold from € 425 to € 804 with their weight. Good quality type continenta­ls from 450kg were in demand - Some examples a Charolais 560kg /€ 1345, a Simmental X 516kg /€ 1320, Aberdeen Angus 460kg/ € 1120 & a Charolais 394kg /€ 1120.

We had a big show of weanling bulls and heifers with the trade on par with last week. Some examples of Bulls, a Limousin 522KG/€ 1250, Limousin 406kg/€ 1120, a Charolais 368kg/€ 1030 & a Charolais 325kg/€ 1040.

The heifer weanlings were in demand with farmers driving the trade. A Limousin 370kg/€ 1160, Limousin 392kg/€ 1040 & Charolais 268kg/€ 985.

Springers made from € 1300 to € 1680 with variations in prices depending on the time/ quality/ colour and star rating.

We had a special sale of dairy cows with price ranging up to € 1300.00 for a freshly calved cow.

Cull cows are making from € 1.70 to € 2.15 per KG – strong trade for a continenta­l type feeding cow.

Sheep prices on par with last week with lambs making from € 2.27 to € 2.67 / kg. Agents are anxious for lambs from 45kg upwards. please note March 8 we have a special angus sale. Booking every Thursday from 9am on 096 ( 22555).
