Peugeot 5008 is Ireland’s Best Selling Compact 7- Seater MPV

-

THE Peugeot 5008, a former Continental Irish Family Car of the Year winner, is Ireland’s best- selling compact 7- Seater MPV in 2016. Figures released from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry ( SIMI) for January show that the Peugeot 5008 now accounts for 12.4% of the compact MPV segment in Ireland, a huge year on year increase of 93%. The Active Family model, equipped with a Peugeot Connect Video Pack to include video screens set into headrests, complete with two Bluetooth headsets, to help keep little people occupied on long journeys, remains the range best- seller.

The striking people carrier from Peugeot offers drivers a raised driving position giving excellent visibility, and ergonomically positioned controls. Passengers enjoy a bright and spacious interior and easy access to the third row seats with one swift movement. Third row passengers are given more legroom thanks to footwells, not usually a feature in three- row vehicles.

Flexibility is a key strength of the 5008. Flat- folding rear seats maximise the load area when needed to offer a generous capacity of 823 litres with the third row seats folded, increasing to 2506 litres with the second row seats folded away, making it one of the largest in the sector.

Offering parents peace of mind, curtain airbags protect all three rows of passengers while other standard safety features include ESP, ABS, ASR, electronic brake force distribution, driver / passenger front and side airbags, 3 x ISOFIX child seat fixtures in row 2, an automatic electric parking brake with Hill Assist function and fasten seat belt warnings on all seats.

Equipment enhancements for 2016 see Peugeot 5008 owners enjoy even more comfort and practicality. Active level two models now boast Peugeot’s stylish “Cielo” full length panoramic roof and climate control as standard, whilst Allure level three models gain satellite navigation. The popular Peugeot 5008 MPV Active Family version now comes with heated front seats and full leather upholstery for easier maintenance to suit family needs.

Presenting more choice than ever for family motoring, engines on offer now include Peugeot’s revolutionary 1.2 130bhp PureTech petrol engine with 6- speed gearbox, an International Engine of the Year 2015 category winner, with CO2 emissions from 124g, qualifying for € 270 annual road tax. The new Euro 6 1.6 120bhp BlueHDi diesel engine with 6- speed manual gearbox has been introduced, qualifying for € 200 road tax ( 113g Co2). A highly efficient 6- speed fully automatic version of the same 1.6 120bhp BlueHDi engine emits just 112g CO2, remaining in the same road tax band. A new performance- driven 2.0 150bhp BlueHDi diesel engine, with emissions as low as 112g CO2 (€ 200 annual road tax) is now also available on the 5008 for 2016.

The 5008 is covered by a five year Peugeot manufacturer warranty and for a limited period only, customers can avail of up to € 4,500 scrappage allowance or a € 750 Peugeot customer reward, plus finance from as low as 2.9%.

Colin Sheridan, Peugeot Sales and Marketing Director said, “The award winning Peugeot 5008 continues to attract many new customers to the Peugeot brand. It is the perfect choice for many who look for a stylish, safe, economical and practical solution to family motoring. We’re delighted with this strong sales performance and look forward to further growth in 2016, thanks to strong offers, our new extended petrol and diesel engine range plus additional equipment.”

The Peugeot 5008 retails from € 27,840 plus dealer delivery related charges.
