LAST week saw the opening week of the Sligo Rovers Champions League and Europa league division respectively which provided four fixtures down for the decision. The opening fixture of the week was on Tuesday, as Clinical Hygiene took on Grange Utd in the Europa League division. Despite taking an early lead through Conor McDaniel, Grange battled back and collected all 3 points and recorded an impressive 4- 1 victory. Goals from John Gilson, Jamie Mc Loughlin and a brace from Seamus Kane ensured Grange started the Europa League division on a very positive note. Wednesday night provided a double header of fixtures in the Champions League division with Borussia Teeth facing GSS followed by The Belfry against the Adelaide Casino. Borussia Teeth and GSS played out a highly entertaining 2- 2 draw, a game which could of went either way. Dylan Henry and Ross O’Donavan got the goals for Borussia, while Terry Farrelly and Dermot O’Connor were the goal scorers for GSS. This game was a testament as to how close this division will be. Unfortunately Adelaide Casino were unable to field a team and therefore The Belfry were awarded a walkover. The final fixture of the week was on Friday last, which saw Bald Eagles facing Forrest Celtic in the Europa League division. Conor Lynch gave the Bald Eagles an early 1- 0 lead in what was a very competitive encounter.

Unfortunately just before half time, Aaron McEvoy of Forrest suffered a bad injury and out of respect to their fellow team mate, Forrest Celtic voted not to play the second half and thus Bald Eagles were rewarded the 3 points on a score line of 1- 0.
