THE FIELD

The Grange Players are performing John B. Keane’s acclaimed play ‘ The Field’ in the Hawk’s Well this Tuesday March 1st at 8pm. A portion of the proceeds from this event will go towards the local Drumcliffe Rosses Point GAA Club. Tickets are available online at hawkswell. com, or contact club secretary Des Henry for details.

MEETING THE COUNTESS

Constance Markievicz will be making a special appearance in Collins Lounge at 8pm this Wednesday March 2nd to tell her amazing story. Everyone is welcome to come attend what promises to be a very unique and informativ­e event.

TABE QUIZ

The Carney Ladies Mini Marathon Team are holding a Table Quiz in McLeans Pub on Friday March 11th at 9.30pm. All proceeds to St. Cecilia’s School, Cregg. Your support would be greatly appreciate­d

STEP SUMMIT

On Saturday March 19th starting at 1pm in Rathcormac Hall, ‘ STEP SUMMIT’, a seminar looking at dance, dancers, exchange steps, will take place. The event will appeal to all lovers of all kinds of traditiona­l dance. All very welcome.

CARNEY 10K

The annual Carney Lissadell 10k Walk and Road Race take place on Easter Monday March 28th. Entries are now open on runireland. com or oxfield. ie, or can be made on the morning of the race, and cost € 12 online or € 15 on the day. All funds raised will go towards the local 11th Sligo Benbulben Scouts and the Oxfield Community Centre.

The popular event will once again pass through the majestic Lissadell Estate with the kind permission of the Owners of Lissadell. Registrati­ons start from 9: 30am at Oxfield, the kids’ fun runs take place at 11am ( also in Oxfield), while the 10k walk starts at 11: 30am and the run at 12noon.

POINT 2 POINT

For all the cycling enthusiast­s out there, the local Drumcliffe Rosses Point GAA Club’s Point2Poin­t Cycle Tour 2016 takes place on Saturday and Sunday, May 21st and May 22nd. It promises to be a hugely enjoyable community event. For more details see www. drp. gaa. ie.
