SCHOOLS FINAL

Next Saturday, 5th March, history will be made in the Connacht Post Primary Schools ‘ A’ Championsh­ip final as St. Attracta’s Community School, Tubbercurr­y, play Summerhill College, Sligo, the first time that two Sligo teams have reached the Final. Match takes place in Markievicz Park at 3pm. Best of luck to St. Attracta’s team, especially to all the lads on the panel who play their club football in Tourlestra­ne GAA.

ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE

Aclare’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade is only a few weeks away now and floats are coming together nicely. Anything Goes is the theme for this years parade.

COUNTRY MARKET

Drummartin Country Market ( 9km out the Ballina road from Tubbercurr­y, on right besides Joe Dan’s Pub) is open every Saturday, 10.30 to 12.30. If anyone wishes to sell at the market please contact: 086 3703145.

BINGO

Bingo takes place every Tuesday night in Banada Abbey Hall. Bingo session commences at the usual time of 8.30pm and a minimum of € 1,800 is now being paid out each night. Snowball game is € 4,100, on 46 calls, Jackpot is € 2,670, on 53 calls or less.

ACLARE LOTTO

The Aclare Community Lotto now stands at over € 8,500. Tickets are available from Kennedy’s Supermarke­t, Aclare and from any ADC member.

COMMUNITY QUIZ

The Tubbercurr­y & District Credit Union quiz continues this week on Tuesday 1st March at 9.30pm with the last of the 1st round matches with a double header in Brennans of Cloonacool, where Mickey Macs play Howleys of Curry, and Cawleys Hotel play the Border Collie of Tourlestra­ne.

Then on Thursday 3rd March in the Mayqueen, the first of the semi- finals where the Golf Club team will play Kennedy’s of Doocastle, and the Old Fair Day team will play Murphy’s Hotel.

All proceeds in aid of local charities. Last year five charities were supported ( Care of the Aged, Cystic Fibrosis, Order of Malta, Tubbercurr­y Cancer Support and Suicide support). Please follow on Facebook for more details.

LINE DANCING

Line dancing classes continue every Thursday night in Kennedy’s Lounge, Doocastle, starting at 9.30pm. Everyone welcome.
