CUP MEDAL WINNER

Well done to young soccer superstar MaryAnn O’Kennedy, Lavagh who won the women’s FAI National U- 18 Cup final recently with Castlebar Celtic. They defeated Lagan Harps in the final.

NEW ARRIVAL

Congrats to Pauline and Tommy Brennan, Galway on the recent arrival of baby girl Robyn. Pauline is a daughter of Kathleen Stenson, Muckelty and the late Tommy Stenson.

SACRISTAN RETIRES

Best wishes to Mary Johnston. Lavagh on her retirement as Mullinabre­ena church sacristan recently. Mary has given many, many years of faithful service like her parents before her.

The church has been kept in immaculate condition over the years for day to day use along with the many and various events that take place.

Many tributes have been paid to Mary and her husband Tom for their service to the parish. An alter society is to be set up to carry on the necessary care and volunteers are welcome to give their names to Fr. Peter Gallagher

PARISH MISSION

The parish mission concluded on 21st February. It was conducted by the Franciscan Friars. Morning and evening masses along with other events were all very well attended throughout the week of activities.

Fr Peter Gallagher and the parish pastoral council gratefully acknowledg­e the help and input of so many people for helping make the mission a success.

GAA REGISTRATI­ON

Coolaney/ Mullinabre­ena GAA player registrati­on will be held on Saturday 12th March in Coolaney Community Center from 9.45am to 11am and in St. Nathy’s Hall from 10.45am to 12 noon. A € 5nominal fee applies ( max € 20 per family). All youths ( U. 18 ) Must be accompanie­d by a guardian.

All senior players must also register. This is to ensure that everyone is properly insured and that players, coaches and the club are protected in all eventualit­ies.

LOCAL LOTTO

Coolaney/ Mullinabre­ena GAA Lotto tickets are now available from any committee member. This is the main club fundraiser for day to day expenses. Thanks to all for your continued support. All sellers are asked to return tickets as soon as possible please. Jackpot is now € 3400.

SYMPATHY

Sympathy is extended to the Surlis family, Tubbercurr­y on the recent death of Tommy Joe Surlis. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
