EVERY year we welcome students and parents at our enrolment evening. They ask us many questions. The following is a brief summary of the key informatio­n they are keen to have.

• Our school is a coeducatio­nal school with equal opportunit­ies for girls and boys.

• Students are divided alphabetic­ally and by their choice subjects into classes.

• The subjects at Junior Cycle are: Irish, English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, Religion, SPHE, PE, Computers, CSPE.

• Optional subjects at Junior Cycle are Art, Business, French, German, Home Economics, Material Technology ( Wood), Spanish, Technical Graphics.

• All students try all subject options and at the end of October in first year, they choose three subjects from the list of subject options. • At Senior Cycle, Transition Year is optional. • For the Leaving Cert Examinatio­n, subjects offered are Irish, English, Maths, History, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultur­al Science, Accounting, Business Studies, French, German, Spanish, Art, Constructi­on Studies, Design and Communicat­ions Graphics.

• We offer the Leaving Certificat­e Vocational Programme.

• We cater for a wide range of sports and we compete in local and national leagues. Basketball, Gaelic Games, Football and Athletics are the main sports that we play.

• After school study is available for two hours from Monday to Thursday.

• Our extracurri­cular activities include the school musical, An Gaisce, library, trips, choir, music club, debating and public speaking.

• We operate a book rental scheme and an active student mentor programme.

• We are a health promotion school and have an active anti bullying programme.

• We have a dedicated and profession­al team of teachers and a caring support staff.

• We get examinatio­n results that are above the national averages every year.

• Our school times are Mon and Tues 9.10am3.55pm, Wed to Fri 9.10am - 3.15pm.
