Nominations open for Sports Awards
NOMINATIONS are open for the inaugural Sligo Sports Awards 2017 in conjunction with the Sligo Champion and Callan Tansey Solicitors.
The awards are taking place in the Radisson Hotel on March 9th and anyone wishing to nominate is advised to so do as quickly as possible as the deadline closes on February 15th.
The event recognises the stellar achievement of Sligo’s sports stars across all of the many sporting disciples, from Gaelic, soccer, rugby, basketball, athletics, swimming, martial arts, the list goes on.
All clubs across all sports in the county are invited to participate in the awards, which honours the accomplishments of local sporting heroes.
Nominations are now open and are invited from anyone, groups, individuals or organisations.

The deadline is fast approaching to get the nominations in.
It closes on February 15th next.
The launch of the inaugural sports awards was held in the Glasshouse Hotel recently and was well attended by representatives from local sporting organisations as well as coaches and athletes themselves.

As well as the above categories, there will also be a Special Recognition Award, Hall of Fame Award and an Overall Sports Personality of the Year 2017 which will be chosen from the categories. The winners will be announced on March 9th at the event in the Radisson Hotel.
