IFA’S € 3,850 DONATION

At a recently well attended event, the Manorhamil­ton IFA Branch staged its presentati­on ceremony for the donation of the proceeds of the highly successful 2017 New Year’s Day Tractorcad­e to Our Lady’s Day Hospital representa­tives in Heraghty’s Bar.

The New Year’s Day Tractorcad­e raised a fantastic sum of € 3,850 and a cheque for that amount was presented to Our Lady’s Day Hospital representa­tives and Nurses, Mary McShane, Leanne Cullen and Mary Harkin, who were deputising for Our Lady’s Hospital Director Nursing, Elaine McPartland.

Mary McShane thanked Manorhamil­ton IFA for its generous donation, which was greatly appreciate­d. Mary also stated it would enable the Day Hospital to immensely enhance the level of treatment it provides for its patients. Two pressure relieving chairs will be purchased by the Day Hospital for the patients use.

DAMIEN’S BOXING WINS

Manorhamil­ton Seán McDermott Boxing Club’s Damien O’Boyle recently chalked up a clear cut victory when he won the Irish Novice 91kg title at Dublin’s National Stadium.

Damien registered a three – 0 winning margin when he defeated Niall Coady from the St Saviour’s Crystal Boxing Club Waterford to become national champion at the 91kg weight.
