THE PHOENIX PLAYERS
The Phoenix Players are delighted to announce upcoming dates for their three- act play ‘ The Third Policeman’, which they will be bringing to theatre audiences on this year’s Festival Circuit in various locations nationally throughout March.
The Third Policeman is based on the book of the same name by legendary writer Flan O’Brien: it tells the story of one man’s seemingly endless search for the black box, and the strange and wonderful places and characters he encounters on his journey. This play includes moments of hilarious comedy, but equally touches on darker moments with a sense of hopelessness present.
The cast includes Alan Seery in his debut for the Phoenix Players as well as seasoned actors Padraic Neary, Eamonn Gallagher, Gerry Maye, Mary T Mannion and Gráinne Brennan.
North Connaught College in Tubbercurry is hosting an ‘ Into Employment Week’ from the sixth to February 10.
Guest speakers, from industry, Universities, Institutes of Technologies and employers will give presentations throughout the week in careers such as administration, beauty therapy, child care, community development, healthcare, hospitality, nursing, and security.
Members of the public who are interested in learning more about how to apply for jobs, access courses to higher education or who want to brush up on their interview skills, are welcome to attend the sessions. Please contact the college for times of sessions 071 9185035.
ROAD UPGRADE
Work has been on- going over the last two weeks on improving the link road between Upper Teeling Street and the Circular Road near Coen’s Service Station. This has always been a well- used but narrow street, but will look a lot better when works are completed. A footpath is being laid and proper fencing erected. Safety will also be significantly improved.
Well done to local Engineer David Goulden and his team on securing funding for this long overdue project.
