THE THIRD POLICEMAN

The Phoenix Players are delighted to announce upcoming dates for their 3 Act Play ‘ The Third Policeman’, which they will be brining to theatre audiences on this year’s Festival Circuit in various locations nationally throughout March. The Third Policeman is based on the book of the same name by legendary writer Flan O’Brien:- it tells the story of one man’s seemingly endless search for the black box, and the strange and wonderful places and characters he encounters on his journey. This play includes moments of hilarious comedy, but equally touches on darker moments with a sense of hopelessness present. Director is the ever competent Peter Davey and he has recruited an all- star backstage crew. On February 16th and 17th the group will be presenting the show in St Brigid’s Hall Tubbercurry and these will be the only home shows, as this year the Western Drama Festival are hosting the All Ireland Finals, and will not be hosting their own festival in March. Although the Phoenix Players are extremely hopeful of qualifying for the All Ireland’s in Tubbercurry in April, they would urge locals wishing to see this year’s show to come along on the 16th and 17th of February to avoid disappointment. The Group are also presenting ‘ The Third Policeman’ in Kiltimagh on Wednesday 22nd Feb, and in the Factory, Sligo on March 1st and 2nd.
