Glucose sensors

-

CLLR Dara Mulvey has asked the Council to ask Health Minister Simon Harris to add freestyle libre glucose sensors to the Long Term Illness Scheme. A 2- week sensor costs ¤ 60. It allows parents to check young children during the night without waking them to prick a finger and draw blood.

“This price makes this invaluable product unaffordable for some families,” said Cllr Mulvey.

He was supported by Cllr Rosaleen O’Grady: “The freestyle sensors are great for checking toddlers at night,” she said.
