Sligo hurlers defeated in opening league game

SLIGO hurlers were defeated by a mere point in their league opener of this year’s Allianz Hurling National League campaign.

The Yeats men travelled to Birmingham to take on Warwickshire, and despite holding a five point lead at the half way mark, they were defeated 3- 09 to 3- 8 in the end by the hosts.

Sligo’s goals came from Eoin McDonagh, Sean O’Connor and Michael Gilmartin.
