BEACH CLEANUP

Well done to all the volunteers who turned out for another great Lissadell Beach Clean last Saturday. Congratula­tions to Tamlyn McHugh and her Coast Care Team for organising – the main beach is looking pristine.

JUNIOR ATHLETES

Congratula­tions to the 41 North Sligo junior athletes who took part in the County Sligo Indoor Championsh­ips in Claremorri­s recently. There were some great performanc­es ( chalking up 28 medals) with lots of team spirit which topped off a great day out. Thanks again to all the North Sligo AC volunteer coaches and parents who travelled and supported.

COMMUNITY GAMES

The Drumcliffe Community Games art and model making competitio­ns will take place this Wednesday and Thursday. The girls art and boys model making will take place on Wednesday ( Feb 15th) while the boys art and girls model making are on Thursday ( February 16). Both evenings kick off at 7 p. m. in Rathcormac National School.

Also, please note that the Drumcliffe Area track and field events will take place on Sunday, May 14, in Oxfield Community Park.

GAA CLUB REGISTRATI­ON

2017 registrati­on for the local Drumcliffe- Rosses Point GAA Club takes place in Oxfield on Saturday, February 18, from 10 a. m. to 1 p. m. An additional regirstati­on evening will take place in Rosses Point NS on Wednesday, February 22, from 7.15 p. m. to 9 p. m.

TABLE QUIZ

The Carney Tidy Towns table quiz takes place in Batty’s Bar, Carney, this Saturday, February 18, at 9 p. m. Entry costs € 20 per table and there will be a raffle on the night with lots of great prizes kindly donated by local businesses. Promises to be a very enjoyable night, and all are very welcome.

CARNEY LADIES

The mighty Carney Women’s Mini Marathon Team are also holding a fundraisin­g table quiz in McLeans Pub on Friday, February 24. Entry costs € 20 per table.

KIDS GAELIC

Saturday morning Gaelic football and hurling coaching for kids will resume on March 4. The nursery group ( under- 6) start at 9.45 a. m., with the under- 8s and under- 10s at 10.30 a. m. New players always very welcome.

BOSTON FOR YEATS

Yeats United Football Club is hosting a Boston Tea Party on Saturday, March 25, in the Radisson Blu Hotel to raise funds for pitch developmen­t. Anyone interested in hosting a table can contact club secretary Jean Gaule at 086 6419669.

TRACTOR DATE

The annual charity tractor run ( organised by local entreprene­ur Luke Kerrigan) in aid of the Irish Kidney Associatio­n will take place this year on Monday, April 2.

ANÚNA CONCERT

Internatio­nally acclaimed Anúna will play a one off concert in the splendid surroundin­gs of St Columba’s Church in Drumcliffe on Friday, May 5, starting at 8 p. m.
