LOCAL HISTORY

A group of people interested in recording the history of the Curry parish has been meeting over the past months. Their aim is to record the local history and changes taking place in various townlands.

Representa­tives will be visiting households during the coming weeks to record family histories covering the past century hoping to compile records for future generation­s.

RECENT DEATHS

The community was shocked and saddened by the sudden death of Michael McGowan of Lyndale, Sligo and formerly Leitrim South, Tubbercurr­y. Sincere sympathy is extended to his wife Ann, son Brian, daughters Laura and Chloe, brothers Patrick, John and Brendan, sisters Caroline and Mary. Aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and large circle of friends. RIP.

Sympathy also to Padraic Horkan, Broher, on the death of his brother Peter, Dublin. Also to the relatives of Bridie Fahy, Galway sister of the late John Walsh, Cloonraver. RIP.
