PHOENIX PLAYERS

If you live in Tubbercury or in the South Sligo area you will have heard that the Phoenix Players Drama Group are back in full swing in preparation for the Drama Circuit.

On February 16 and 17 the group will be presenting the hilarious comedy, ‘ The Third Policeman’ in St Brigid’s Hall Tubbercurry at 8 p. m. nightly. These will be the only home shows, as this year the Western Drama Festival are hosting the all- Ireland Finals, and will not be hosting their own festival in March. Although the Phoenix Players are extremely hopeful of qualifying for the all- Ireland’s in Tubbercurry in April, they would urge locals wishing to see this year’s show to come along on February 16 and 17 to avoid disappointment. This play has huge appeal and it is definitely suitable for all, so come along and support our home grown talent.

The Phoenix Players will compete at eight festivals, and their director Peter Davey can be proud of the cast. Peter said he is thrilled with the dedication of his hard working cast and crew. They are a talented team drawn from Tubbercurry and its rural environs.

The play cast includes: Shane Keyes, Padraic Neary, Shona O’Dowd, Claire McLoughlin, Francis Brennan, Mary T Mannion, Gerry Maye, Eamonn Gallagher, Grainne Brennan, Caroline McGowan, Alan Seery and Mark Dunne. The play, setting, design and logistics are admirably supported by Caoimhe Gallagher, Derek Foy, Peter Molloy, Caitriona Coleman, Kieran Brennan and Martin Lynch.
