Corran Players raise € 6000 for charities

-

Ballymote’s amateur drama group, The Corran Players raised more than € 6000 for local charities from the proceeds of their successful production of ‘ Puss in Boots’, which took place at Christmas.

The local charities chosen were ‘ Ballymote Nursing Home Patient Comfort Fund’ and ‘ Sligo Cancer Support Centre’ with each charity receiving € 3000.

The Corran players wanted to extend a huge thank you to all involved and a massive thanks to everyone that came and supported the shows, without the support of the local community this would not have been possible.

Puss in Boots was the first production for the drama group after a three year break and took place over a weekend in December in the Art Deco Theatre, Ballymote.

The amateur community group have been around for more than 20 years and are already preparing for a brand new 2017 production of ‘ A Wake in the West’.
