2 THE THIRD POLICEMAN

The Phoenix Players are delighted to announce upcoming dates for their 3 Act Play ‘ The Third Policeman’, which they will be brining to theatre audiences on this year’s Festival Circuit. The Third Policeman is based on the book of the same name by legendary writer Flan O’Brien. This Thursday and Friday the 16th and 17th of February the group will be presenting the show in St Brigid’s Hall Tubbercurr­y and these will be the only home shows.

3 BRÍD HARPER & TONY O’CONNELL

On Sunday the 19th of February, the Hawk’s Well Theatre hosts the first concert in its Duet at the Well series showcasing Irish music duets in an intimate setting, this will be the first of many such concerts. Legendary Donegal fiddler, Bríd Harper joins virtuoso concertina player Tony O’Connell from Glin, Co. Limerick. Contact info@ hawkswell. com. 4 STROLL AT THE TRACK

Stroll at the Track will take place at Sligo Racecourse this Sunday 19th February from 12- 4pm. There will be music, a pet farm, bounce zone, auction and more. Entry is free and your donation on the day will be greatly accepted. All proceeds are in aid of North West Hospice.

The popular Books & Wine event returns this Thursday the 16th of Feb with guest Stephen Doyle who will share the comic classic ‘ Three Men in a boat ( To Say Nothing of the Dog)’ by Jerome K Jerome. 9 JOHNNY GALLAGHER & BOXTIE

Johnny Gallagher and Boxtie band will play this Saturday the 11th of February in 5th on Teeling. Johnny oozes charisma and excitement on stage presence. He can change from full on aggressive rock to quieter moments of more tender, introsprec­tive music, and in the course of a set he shows his wizardry on both electric and acoustic guitars. Admission is free with the gig kicking off at 11.30pm. Over 18s only.

10 ANNUAL TABLE QUIZ

The Annual Table Quiz Fundraiser will help Carney Tidy Village with the upkeep and maintenanc­e of the village. It will take place this Saturday the 18th in Batty’s Bar, kicking off on 9.00pm. € 20 per table of 4. On the night there will be a raffle where all prizes are sponsored by local businesses.
