Winning start for Sligo minors

Despite the black card dismissal of Michéal Cahill in the 42nd minute, Sligo started to dominate and when Paddy Duggan was sent off for picking up a second bookable offence ten minutes from time, Sligo took control of the tie.

The home side kicked five of the last six points – this spurt included scores from Towey, O’Hara and Dean Carroll – to give David Cummins’ side a satisfactory start to the league campaign ahead of the second round next month.
