Fostering awareness week event
FOSTERING Awareness Week is running from the 27th February until 3rd March 2017. It is a wonderful opportunity to promote public awareness of fostering, to celebrate the amazing work that foster carers do and to shine a light on how foster care can change the lives of vulnerable children.
Fostering makes a real difference in a child’s life, providing children and young people with a loving home and the support and encouragement they need to flourish. There is currently a shortage of foster carers across the country and Fostering First Ireland ( FFI) wants to hear from potential foster families who are keen to make a difference and provide a safe environment to young people in 2017.
There is an information event in the Glasshouse Hotel on Friday 3rd of March from 10am – 3pm. The goal of this is to meet people who may be interested in hearing more about how to become a foster carer. There will also be opportunities to speak with one foster carers who will give their personal stories.
