Accusedof assaultingwife

A 64- year- old man has been accused of assaulting his wife at their home earlier this month.

John Moran of St John’s Terrace, was arrested last Thursday February 23rd and cautioned.

Judge Kevin Kilrane had to decide whether or not to accept jurisdiction of the case as Moran is charged with Section 3 Assault causing harm to Ms Kitty Moran at 9 St John’s Terrace on February 13th. After being shown photographs of bruising to Ms Moran’s face and body, Judge Kilrane accepted jurisdiction. He remanded Moran on bail to March 30th on condition that he vacate the family home and go to live with his son elsewhere in Sligo, stay off alcohol and have no contact with the victim.
