Hughes Bridge Pontoon

THE Council has sought ¤ 35,000 from the Government to design a plan for the expansion of the Pontoon at Hughes Bridge.

Director of Services Tom Kilfeather gave the news to Cllr Seamus Kilgannon after he asked them to convert the old toilet blocks at the side of the Harbour Office into new shower and toilet facilities for overnight yacht tourists.

The Council has agreed to consider providing the toilets but there is no funding in this year’s budget to do this. Cllr Kilgannon’s motion was seconded by Cllr Gino O’Boyle.
