Wine Street Pedestrian crossing

-

A controlled Pedestrian Crossing is soon going in across the entrance to Wine Street car park.

Cllr Tom MacSharry asked for the Council to seek funding for the project, claiming there was a “huge increase” in the number of pedestrians crossing over the entrance to Wine Street car park.

Council official Brian O’Flynn told Cllr MacSharry that quotations have been sought for pedestrian signals at the junction.

He said funding was available for the work and it was anticipated that the installation of the controlled crossing would be completed by the end of June.

Cllr MacSharry said it was “certainly welcome news” and he looked forward to an update.
