The results of the ALAG Scheme photograph­ic competitio­n will be presented next week. Thanks to all the pupils that participat­ed in CADRA first attempt using photograph­y to highlight awareness of the beauty of Carraroe with young residents of the area. Well done to all involved in this project.

Pupils from Ms. Kelly’s and Ms. McGoldrick’s classes in Carraroe participat­ed in Fun Run to beat their own personal record on Wednesday last. The pupils had been training for weeks, both at home and in school, to reach their own targets. Thanks to Cannings House and garden, who sponsored the healthy refreshmen­ts on the day.

CPR/ AED TRAINING

Refresher Training tonight in Community Centre for those scheduled – 6.30 p. m. to 8 p. m.. A small number of places still available for refresher training on March 8 6.30 p. m. to 8 p. m. There is one place available for Full CPR/ AED training on Saturday, March 11, 2 p. m. to 6 p. m. session – Telephone 087 2222835 to book a place. Please note the Defib/ AED is located at the Community Centre and Football Clubhouse. The code to open is posted beside each machine.

PARKING ON ROUNDABOUT

Carraroe and District Regenerati­on Associatio­n made representa­tions to Superinten­dent An Garda Síochána and the Chief Executive Officer Sligo County Council concerning the dangerous parking at the roundabout to drop and collect children at school. We have been informed An Garda Síochána will be initiating extra patrols to address the issue and double yellow lines will be put in place by Sligo County Council as soon as weather permits. We again appeal to parents to use the dedicated walled off parking area at school to drop and collect children.

25 CARD GAME

The regular Tuesday night game in Community Centre commences 9 p. m.. New players always welcome- partners can be arranged. Jackpot now € 300. A good night of fun, chat and cards is guaranteed. Last week winners on 11 games were Christy Maloney/ All White. Runner- up on 10 games were Paraic McLoughlin/ John Lee, Margaret Healy/ Michael Healy

CADRA/ TIDY TOWNS

The weekly meeting is in Carraroe Community Centre at 7.30 p. m. each Tuesday. Please come along and assist with ideas etc. New flower boxes have been planted and placed in area. We are currently planning to remove the mixed stones of the triangle adjacent to the Pet Hospital and replace with pebble stone similar to places in front of Community Centre. We are also planning to plant new trees in front of School and involve young pupils in adopting the trees as a project.

YOGA CLASSES

The above classes take place each Wednesday in Carraroe Community Centre from 8 p. m. to 9.30 p. m. Costs € 15 for a single class or five class pack for € 60. LAKEVIEW ICA

The monthly meeting of Lakeview ICA is held in Carraroe Community Centre on the first Tuesday of each month. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday the seventh march at 8 p. m.

The Sligo Federation is providing training for officers on Saturday, March 10, with Coolaney Guild hosting the event. The training session will commence at 11 a. m. All guilds are asked to encourage as many members as possible to attend. Any area in County Sligo interested in organising an I. CA Guild in their community can contact Federation president Kay at 086 3754857 who will be delighted to assist.
