Congratula­tions to Ciaran Kenny on coming first in the county finals of the boys under- 13 Cross Country Boys.

Congratula­tions to Lorcan Eivers, who came second in the county finals of the Boys Under- 9 Gymnastics.

Congratula­tions also to under- 16 and under- 13 Riverstown boys’ teams who both came second at the county finals of the Community Games Table Tennis competitio­n held recently in Bunninnadd­en Community Centre. Under- 16 team was: Jamie Parke, Shane Dwyer and Aodhan Eivers. under- 13 team was: Ryan Parke, James Foley and Matthew Parke, Brian Dwyer and Daniel O’Hara.

Well done to all the children who took part in the Community Games Draughts competitio­n held in Ardkeernan NS recently. Here are the results: under- 14: First Jamie Parke, second Brian Dwyer, third James Foley and Daniel O’Hara. Well done to Ryan Parke and Matthew Parke, who also made the team. Under- 12: first Oisin Conlon, second Jack Brehony and Steven Smith, third Leanne Galvin and Cara Tighe. under- 10: first Ciara Gilligan, second Miceal Garry, third Aoibheann Conlon.

SHAMROCK GAELS

Congratula­tions to John McPartland who has recently been appointed Senior Team Manager for 2017. The club would like to extend a huge welcome and best wishes to John for the coming season. Tickets for the 2017 Club Draw are currently available from any committee member for € 10 and any support would be greatly appreciate­d. First prize in the draw is a car. All proceeds go to the club.

ST PATRICK’S DAY PARADE

Riverstown St Patrick’s Day Parade will take place as last year commencing at 2.30 p. m. Friday, March 17. Entry Forms for Floats are available from any committee member or in Martin Bakers’ or ring 087 6071515. A fundraiser will be held in Tommy Macs on Saturday, March 4.

TAUNAGH NS

Taunagh National School, Riverstown will be holding its free Book Fest 2017 on Saturday, March 25, from 3 p. m. to 6 p. m. This will include a free Workshop with author Alan Nolan, from 4 p. m. to 5 p. m., suitable for preschool and primary school children. There will also be a Book Fair with children’s books for sale. Tea and coffee served.
