MICK FLANNERY

Mick Flannery is back on the road performing new material from his new album ‘ I Own You’ which features some of Mick’s finest work to date.

He will play the Hawk’s Well Theatre on March 24th at 8.00pm. Following the release of his number one album ‘ By The Rule’ in 2014, Mick took a short break and began writing again in 2015. Basing himself between the counties of Cork and Clare, Mick was moved and motivated by current events around the world, specifically one tragic event in April 2015 that inspired the title track.

Speaking very directly about the single, Mick states; “The song I Own You” is based on the idea of the “poor man” breaking into the “rich man’s” house. It was inspired by wealth inequality in capitalist societies.

This album is a step away from previous releases, something Mick differentiates between his own albums.

Tickets are priced at € 22/ 11 U18’ s and are available now from the box office on: 071- 91- 61518.

THE SPICE BOX OF EARTH

Clive Bright ’ The Spice- Box of Earth’: New Paintings and Drawings. Starting this Thursday the 2nd March and running until the 1st April.

Clive’s focus of work has drifted from a nostalgic grappling for a sense of place and history to grappling with the present. Searching for an understanding and perspective of where we truly fit in the ecology of our place.

Understanding the role of even the tiniest organism within the web of living things around us. Observing the knockon effect of it being there or not has on the whole system. The cycles of energy, the niches of life, the microcosms within microcosms and the lessons that can be learned by studying the relative patterns throughout. The Gallery opening hours are 10am to 5pm Mon to Sat. www.hamiltongallery.ie

CANARIES

This is arguably Farrell’s funniest play, with some Irish couples travelling to the Canaries on a package holiday in a bid to escape from their surroundings. Everybody arrives in the happiest of colours and the best of form, however, things soon start going wrong as the weather is not what was expected, the people are not what were expected and indeed the whole experience descends into total farce. Performed by the Lough Gill Players in the Glens Centre Manorhamilton on Wednesday the 15th of March it is a night not to be missed. Tickets are € 12- 15, for more information call the Box Office on: 071- 9855833.
