ENNISCRONE WALKING CLUB

The walk this week is the Ellagh Loop. The level is easy and the terrain is track and road.

BLOTTO

There was no winner of the € 5,500 jackpot this week. Numbers drawn were 6, 7 and 22. € 25 winners are Martin O’Dowd, Annette Hale, Deirdre Kerrigan and Aodhan Hegarty. Jackpot for the next draw will be € 5,700 and the draw will take place on Saturday, March 4, in McNulty’s Bar for € 5,500.

SUPER COOPER 5K

A fundraiser will take place on Good Friday, April 14, at 5 p. m. starting and finishing at the Diamond Coast Hotel. This is a fun run walk or jog with your dog or not. This is a fundraiser for Jenna Fitzgerald, who was injured in an accident in Spain in 2014. ENNISCRONE BRIDGE CLUB RESULTS

The following are the results of the Freeman Trophy Competitio­n played on Wednesday nights February 8 and 15 first Christy McDonagh, second Marian Flynn third Mairead McDonagh, fourth Kevin McLoughlin. Winners on Wednesday, February 1, first Des Sweeney and Walter Doherty, second Dympna Hannon and Mary Walsh and third Nora Kennedy and Mairin Wade. Winners on Wednesday, February 22, were Johnny and Anne Fleeming, second Mairead and Christy McDonagh and third Nora Kennedy and Mairin Wade. Play continues every Wednesday night at the Diamond Coast Hotel.

LEADING GOD’S PEOPLE IN PRAYER TRAINING EVENINGS

Indoor Astro Turf developmen­t the Astro Turf developmen­t is coming along very well at Quigabar with the astro turf being laid at present, and it will hopefully be available for use in the coming fortnight. We have launched our fundraisin­g drive to help fund the completion of the project, and hope that supporters, players, sponsors and associates of the club can contribute in the next couple of months. There are three ways you can contribute buying a brick (€ 100), block (€ 250) or wall (€ 1500). All donors will be remembered in perpetuity on a donor wall inside the building when complete. The county competitio­n for Scór na nÓg takes place in the coming weeks, involving a number of musical, dancing and table quiz categories. Anyone under the age of 18 within the club that may be interested in taking part can contact Cathal Mullaney at 087 0577947.

SYMPATHY

Sympathy is extended to the Battle Family Tullylinn and Kilglass on the death of their sister Ita Judge Carracrum Bonniconlo­n. Her remains reposed in Gallaghers Funeral Home Bonniconlo­n and the funeral Mass took place in the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary with burial immediatel­y afterwards in Bonniconlo­n Cemetery.

CHARITY PRESENTATI­ON

The presentati­on to Western Care Beehive Centre Ballina of the proceeds from the Christmas charity match was made to Joe Brett. A figure of € 6,700 was raised which was a phenomenal figure, so thanks to all who supported it, sponsored or participat­ed or helped out in any way and especially to the organising committee. As Joe said it will be put to good use as they are moving from their old location on Crossmolin­a road to new premises.

LOTTO

Our lotto draw for the jackpot of € 2,400 took place on Saturday night. The numbers drawn were 4, 11, 17 and 22 and we had one winner, Aoibhe Barrins, Fiddaun. Well done Aoibhe and thanks to all who played.

CASTLECONN­OR GAA UNDERAGE COACHES

Our underage teams are back in training, with Pella taking place on Wednesday and Thursday evening. The under- 14/ 16/ 18 teams have started training in the last week and the under- 16 team are in action on Sunday, March 12, away to St Mary’s 11 a. m.

HANDBALL

Well done to all the young handballer­s who participat­ed in the county finals that were held in the centre on Sunday. The Connacht finals take place again in the centre this weekend. Congratula­tions to Elaine Naughton, Darragh Bourke, Seán Donnegan and Patrick Cooney, who all won county titles.

The majority of the pitchside hoardings are due for renewal, so if you wish to purchase or renew please contact the committee about this three- year deal. Committee members will be making contact with current holders in the coming days.

LOTTO PRESENTATI­ON

A very enjoyable night in Muddys was held on Saturday with a good crowd present. It was a busy night with Geraldine Ruane and family receiving her cheque for € 8,200 she won in our club lotto a few weeks back.

SELF CARE TO WELLNESS PROGRAMME

If you are living with a long term heath condition you may be interested in doing the ‘ Self Care to Wellness programme’. This is a six- week programme delivered in 2.5 hour weekly sessions where you will learn new skills to manage your health condition on a day to day basis. This Programme will commence on Tuesday, March 21, in the Newman Institute in Ballina from 10.30 a. m. to 1 p. m. You must register in advance as places are limited.
