Deepest sympathy is extended to Eileen and Nathy Brennan and family on the death of Eileen’s mother Winnie Seery, who was laid to rest in Cloonacool cemetery on Thursday, March 2. Sympathy also to her sons Michael and Martin. May her soul rest in peace.

WALKING TRACK

A letter of offer ( Grant Allocation of € 124,386) was issued to the committee of Ballinalac­k Community Park for the provision of a Walking Track around the park by the LCDC of Sligo County Council after Sligo Leader Partnershi­p processed the applicatio­n.

Work commenced on Monday, February 27, with tree/ hedge cutting. This was taken into considerat­ion when approving the grant to allow the committee have this part of the work carried out within the hedge cutting period. This funding is warmly welcomed. on Saturday, March 25, in the Radisson Blu Hotel to raise funds for pitch developmen­t. To host a table please contact club secretary Jean Gaule at 086 6419669.

TRACTOR DATE

Preparatio­ns are under way for the third annual charity tractor and vintage car run in aid of the Irish Kidney Associatio­n ( Sligo Branch). This year’s event takes place on Sunday, April 2, starting at the Oxfield Community Centre at 11 a. m. Entry costs € 10 per tractor/ car, and vintage and modern tractors are welcome.

CARNEY LISSADELL 10K

HISTORIC GRAVEYARD TRAINING PROJECT

An informatio­n night will take place in the Glasshouse Hotel, Sligo, on Monday, March 6, 7.30 p. m. to 9 p. m. Do you have a historic graveyard in your area? Is your community group interested in recording the graveyard memorials in your local historic graveyard? If yes, then you will be interested to hear that a new training programme has been developed with the aim of training local communitie­s in Sligo to record and publish their own historic graveyards. John Tierney and the Historic Graves Team will be holding a public informatio­n session on the Sligo Historic Graveyard Training Project in the Glasshouse Hotel, Sligo, on Monday, March 6, 7.30 9 p. m.

WESTERN DRAMA FESTIVAL

The Western Drama Festival is hosting the all- Ireland Confined Drama Finals in St Brigid’s Hall Theatre from Friday, April 21, to Saturday, April 29. Drama workshop designed to motivate will commence on Saturdays mornings from 11 a. m. to 12.30 p. m.
