Cllrs to be allowed on Parade VIP stand
Sligo County Councillors are to be allowed sit on the viewing stand of the St Patrick’s Day Parade this year.
It’s emerged that councillors were not always welcome on the stand: Cllr Seamus Kilgannon said there was no room for him in 2015.
Cllr Tom MacSharry raised the issue, saying as a funding body, the public representatives should be allowed on the stand if they gave notice beforehand.
Chief Executive Ciarán Hayes it was “absolutely reasonable” and he would take it up with the Parades Committee.
