OT therapist shortage
FRAIL older patients in the North West are experiencing “inexcusable” delays in getting Occupational Therapy.
That’s according to Cllr Martin Baker who’s called on the HSE to carry out an immediate review of the Community Occupational Therapy services in the region.
“It’s in dire straits and truly shocking. It’s leading to an extra burden on the hospital sector due to unnecessary admission and attendances at Emergency Units,” he said.
He was supported by Cllrs Rosaleen O’Grady and Paul Taylor.
