Carrigans estate needs painting
THE residents of a small housing estate for older people in Maugherow are asking for the Council’s help to paint and maintain it.
Cllr Marie Casserly called on the Council’s Housing Department to dedicate staff to the job.
Cllr Rosaleen O’Grady said “I think this is an excellent motion, it’s a beautiful estate.”
Responding, Council official Joe Murphy said the Council did not have the staff to paint and maintain this estate and its maintenance budget did not extend to carrying out this work.
“The Council has some funding to help Residents Associations in the maintenance of estates and if there is no Residents Association, the Council would consider some level of support i. e. supply paint,” he said.
