New Wine Street car park pedestrian crossing due

-

A new signal pedestrian crossing across the entrance to Wine Street car park is in the pipeline.

Cllr Dara Mulvey tabled a motion urging the Council to seek funding for the crossing. “I have been contacted by business people in Sligo in relation to the addition of a safe crossing location on Wine Street. Businesses in the area feel its absence is impacting negatively on trading in this location,” he said.

“Tesco is the busiest car park in town,” he added. Senior Engineer Tom Brennan said quotations had been sought for the work, funding is available and it’s expected that the crossing will be installed “in the first half of this year.”
