Keith Raymond scored 2- 7 as he helped his side get their first win of the campaign on Sunday afternoon last.

In a tight first half it was only Keith’s goal that was the difference at the break as Sligo lead 1- 6 – 0- 6 .

But after the restart both sides cancelled each other out until Sligo scored 1- 2 without reply.

This included a brace from Daithí Collins and a second goal from Raymond.

This had Sligo in control 2- 11to 0- 9.

It got worse for Leitrim when Liam Moreton was shown a sec- ond yellow card and ensured his side had play the remainder of the match with 14 men.

Eamon Kilgannon came on as a second half substitute and he marked his first appearance as he scored 1- 1.

Leitrim did get a consolation goal before the end but it wasn’t enough as Declan Loughnane’s men won by eight points.
