SCHOOLS HARD Luck to St Attracta’s Community School who played Ps Chorca Dhuibhne in the junior All Ireland Semi Final. Even though the Tubbercurr­y side lead at the break 1- 7 – 0- 4 but the Munster Champions came back an won in the end 1- 16 – 1- 12. Well done to all concerned with the efforts with this team this year. HURLING THE Sligo hurlers played at the weekend against Leitrim after two defeats Declan Loughnane’s side got their first win of the campaign winning 3- 17 – 1- 15. The last game of the league is meeting with Longford on Sunday week. MINOR SLIGO play in the next round of the Connacht Minor league on Thursday when they face Roscommon in the Sligo centre of excellence throw in 5pm. COACHING WELL known Dublin Coach Mick Bohan, the current Dublin ladies manager had a workshop for coaches in Sligo Centre of Excellence last weekend the Dublin native has plenty of experience with spells with Dublin and Clare senior teams. The skills which were shown will hopefully help the coaches going forward. SENIOR club football THE Kieran and Benson cups get underway this weekend with the first taste of adult football for the senior players in 2017.
