SUMMERHILL College are hoping to make history tomorrow by win the Schools Senior Cup for the first time ever. Ross O’Boyle’s side are taking on Coláiste Iognaid ( The Jes) in tomorrow’s Senior final in the Sportsground at 4pm.

Ross Hickey, pictured inset, was the scorer of the only try in the semi- final two weeks ago against Garbally College in what was a well- rounded team performance.

The Sligo school is hoping success will be theirs tomorrow as they travel to Connacht’s headquarters in Galway, with a large contingent of supporters in tow.

Their opponents had defeated Sligo Grammar School in the other semi- final to pave their way into tomorrow’s final. Summer- hill Head Coach Ross O’Boyle said everyone is looking forward to the clash tomorrow.

He said: “We’re delighted the be in the final, the semi- final was tough but we got the job done. “We lost to Garbally by one point two years ago in the final, so it was good to get a bit of revenge.

“This is our second time in the school’s history to be in the final, all the boys dug deep, I’m proud of them. They’re a great bunch. “It’s nice to be in the final for all the hard work that goes in all year.”

He said their opponents in the final, the Jes, have not been tested yet this season.

“They’ve really made their mark but they haven’t been tested yet and we’re ready for a battle,” Ross added.
