OWENMORE GAELS

Owenmore Gaels commence coaching for four- to six- year- olds ( those born in 2011/ 2012) on Thursday, March 9, at the Teeling Centre, Collooney from 6 p. m. to 7 p. m. This is a fun coaching programme with an introducti­on to GAA through fundamenta­l movement and basic skill developmen­t. We also encourage parents to get involved and if you are interested in getting involved please contact Niall at 087 7609420.

The lotto draw took place in Owenmore Inn on Monday, March 6. The numbers drawn were 12, 13, 23 and 31. There was no winner of the jackpot. Congratula­tions to our matchthree winners of Kathleen Kane and Ultan Doherty, who each receive € 50. The next draw takes place on Monday, March 20. IRISH STEW NIGHT

Rathbaron Parish, Coolaney, are hosting an ‘ Irish Stew Night’ on Friday, March 17, St Patrick’s Day, in the Mountain Inn, Coolaney, from 8 p. m. Music by Henry Gawley and band, main course, desert, tea and coffee served. Admission on the night € 15. All funds raised are in aid of Rathbarron Church, Coolaney. All support appreciate­d and everybody welcome.

BIODIVERSI­TY TALK

Michael Bell of Sligo Branch, BirdWatch Ireland will present an illustrate­d talk at the Benwiskin Centre on the wildlife of the area, followed by a guided field trip to Mullaghmor­e/ Bunduff on Sunday, April 23.

Meet at the Benwiskin Centre at 11 a. m. for the talk followed by the examinatio­n of moth trap.

The event is free but a nominal fee can be given if desired for refreshmen­ts at the Benwiskin Centre. The group can then car pool to Bunduff for the field trip. Participan­ts are advised to bring a packed lunch and a flask.
