ST PATRICK’S DAY PARADE

Riverstown St Patrick’s Day parade will take place on Friday, March 17, at 2.30 p. m. Categories are as follows with prizes for first and second in each Category with Cups for the overall winners: Most Original, Most Topical, Most Comical, Most Creative, Schools Category, Children’s Category, Best Plant/ Machinery, Best Agricultural Machine, Classic vehicle category, Musical/ Dance category. Entry Forms are available from Martin Baker’s or any committee member. School art competition under way also.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Congratulations to Riverstown under- 15 boys Futsul team on coming first in the county finals of the Community Games. The team was Aodhan Eivers, Lee Deignan, Johnny Kenny, Conor Kearns, Conor Healy, Shane Dwyer, Daniel Murphy and Adam Kearns. Best of luck to the team as they go on to compete in the Connacht Finals. Well done also to the under- 13 team who played well on the day.

Best of luck to all the Riverstown Swimmers taking part in the county finals on Thursday, March 16, in the Sports Complex. Please note that Warm up for the under- eight and under- 10 swimmers will be at 6 p. m., with their events starting at 6.15 p. m. Warm up for under- 12, under- 14 and under- 16 swimmers will be 7.30 p. m. with their events starting at 7.45 p. m.

LITTLE BUDDIES AGM

Existing and future parents are invited to Little Buddies annual general meeting which will take place in Little Buddies Creche, Chapel Gardens, Riverstown at 8 p. m. on Monday, March 20. Refreshments will be served.

BOOK FEST 2017

Taunagh National School, Riverstown will be holding its free Book Fest 2017 on Saturday, March 25, from 3 p. m. to 6 p. m. This will include a free Workshop with author Alan Nolan, from 4 p. m. to 5 p. m., suitable for preschool and primary school children. There will also be a Book Fair with children’s books for sale. Tea and coffee served.
